Trinity 4 - 4 Winteringham, Sunday 11/11/2007 (West Halton)
With this division 4 fixture taking place on Rememberence Sunday both teams observed a minutes silence. As was the case last season, this game produced a feast of goals with honours this time being deservedly shared. It took only 2 minutes for the first goal to arrive, Winteringham taking advantage of some poor defending. Des Comerford, playing his first game of the season, seemed to have tieded up a Winteringham attack but a poor clearence by standin Trinity 'keeper came straight back into the net. Trinitys defence claimed an equaliser on 7mins, when left back Comerford floated over an inch perfect free kick for centre half Keith Harper to power a far post header into the net. Following this frantic start the game settled down with neither side producing any clear cut chances. Winteringham did however regain the lead on 36mins when a cross from the left swirled in the strong wind and somehow ended up in the net. H-T 2-1. The second half was 4 mins old when a long Comerford throw deceived the Winteringham defence and Phil Brumby nipped in to score Trinitys second equaliser. Trinity found themselves 3-2 up after 55mins when Mark Jackson picked up a loose ball on the half way line and sent it forward. Again the wind played a part as it sailed past a surprised Winteringham 'keeper to put Trinity in front for the first time in the game. With 70mins on the clock an excellent move by Graham Dixon set Brumby free infront of goal, he rounded the 'keeper but somehow missed the target but hit the corner flag! Minutes later this miss looked to have cost Trinity the points as a Winteringham corner was headed home to make it 3-3, and shortly after this a long shot found the top corner to put winteringham ahead 4-3. Trinity were not to be denied their deserved equaliser when with 3 mins left Chris Harper thumped home a free kick from 25 yards to make the score 4-4.

guess turks has discoverd the copy and paste function!
Correct A*
Big Dave is awarded 10 points for pointing this out, and a smiley face :)
Ten points!
This puts Dave in the lead of the NERD league.
However Turks is awarded 20 gay points for the use of a smiley face.
Thus putting him well in the lead of the 'gay league'.
Anymore suggestions for gay points? post them up!!!!
(The rules of 'gay league' are simple, if you witness or even just hear about one of the boozers doing, saying or even thinkng anything a bit 'gay' whack it on the blog and 'gay' points are awarded!)and before anyone else says anything I hear by nominate myself for 10 points for creating the 'gay league'
Turks rounded the keeper and then hits the corner flag...thats genius!
